I was asked to put together a strings and French horn session at Angel Studios (Islington, London) recently for legendary Portuguese songwriter Sergio Castro. His arranger Joe Medicis has written some beautiful arrangements for his epic song Learning. It was a real pleasure working with Sergio and Joe, and conducting a superb group of musicians led by Stephanie Cavey (violin).
We had the use of Studio One, a beautiful bright space that used to be a church hall until the studio was built in 1979. In this session we put the horn player in a separate room but kept the dividers open so we could benefit from the full room sound from all instruments together.
